Recovery Housing

January 18, 2016  |  Enews, Housing
MHRS is working with New Housing Ohio (NHO) and consultant Ivan Faske to establish recovery housing for Warren and Clinton counties. For the Women's facility, we have also partnered with Clermont and Brown counties.

The Men's facility, Clean Acres, is located just south of Wilmington in Cuba, Ohio and has 10 available beds. Clean Acres is located on a farm with fields, equipment to work the land and the ability to house livestock. These are all things that the initiative partners would like to see as active parts of the recovery process in the future. There is also a sister Women's facility in Blanchester.

The women's facility named Saving Grace, is part of the same initiative and has the additional support of our partner boards of Clermont and Brown counties. By linking arms with surrounding counties, we can create stronger and more comprehensive programs.

You might be wondering, who are these facilities for? In the broadest sense, these facilities are for any residents of Warren and Clinton counties who are referred through one of our treatment providers, or who are connected to our system. Jeff Rhein of MHRS says that this system is for individuals who are "dedicated to fostering their own recovery program and maintaining that in a clean, sober environment, actively participating in treatment or recovery activities."

Once accepted into the programs, participants are expected to adhere to several basic, but imperative guidelines:

-Honesty with house members and staff

-Willingness to work on recovery

-Daily meditations meetings

The first 30 days of their stay is more intensive with programming and requirements but their ultimate goal is to facilitate reprogramming of one's life in relations to Alcohol and Drug use.

As MHRS and our partners look forward, we are hoping to continuously hone and calibrate these programs to best serve the needs of the community. If you would like to learn more about these programs, please contact Jeff Rhein at JRhein@MHRSWCC.org or attend our Board Meeting, February 10th at 5:30pm.
